Students from Ganton. Sirius Academy North and St Mary’s College travelled to the Sir John Charles Centre for Sport, Leeds to take part in the Disability Sport Yorkshire Junior Regional Athletics Finals.
St Mary’s College enjoyed a very successful day with Bobby Stather winning the Under 15 Boys A 50m final with team mate Joshua Coates in third. Nieve Johnson won the Under 15 Girls 50m A race with team mate Laurem-Mae Sewell in second place. To complete, a successful day in the sprints, Jake Cooper won the Under 13 Boys A race with Eros Dalla-Sega in second.
Ganton School enjoyed an amazing day with a record 37 students reaching the finals and all medalled in their events. The outstanding performers were Aleisha Willis who won the Under 15 Girls B 400m and Long Jump and Brandon Wilson who won the Under 11 Boys B 50m and Turbo Javelin.
