Seven teams participated in the Under 14 Girls Hull Active Schools 7-a-side Championships at St Mary’s College. Seven teams from four schools participated in two ability graded competitions.
In the Division 1 competition, it was a straight battle between St Mary’s College A and St Mary’s College B. The younger St Mary’s College B team enjoyed two wins against Kelvin Hall and Archbishop Sentamu Academy A to go into the final game on top of the round robin format. St Mary’s College A had won one game but a draw against Kelvin Hall put them in second place. St Mary’s College A dominated with the St Mary’s College B defending well and setting up counter attacks knowing that a draw would be enough to seal the tournament win. A 0-0 draw say this happen with a 1-0 win for Kelvin Hall over Archbishop Sentamu Academy sealing third place.
In the Division 2 competition, Archbishop Sentamu Academy B were the dominant team claiming two wins out of two against St Mary’s College C and Sirius Academy North. St Mary’s and Sirius North drew 0-0 in the deciding game but St Mary’s clinched the runners up position by scoring one more goal than their North Hull counterparts.
