Mini-Tennis Qualifiers

Mini-Tennis Championship Qualification

Two qualification events took place this week for the Humber School Games Mini-Tennis Championship Finals on Friday 13th June. Hull primary schools have one team place in the Mini-Orange and two places in the Mini-Red Championships up for grabs!

Mini-Tennis is an adapted version of traditional tennis on smaller courts using more appropriate tennis balls. Mini-Red is for young people in year three and four with Mini-Orange catering for years five and six. The format involves schools selecting four players to compete as a team against other schools.

Costello Stadiums fantastic new Tennis Courts provided the perfect backdrop for our first qualifier event delivered by Pete Bridgewater from PB Tennis. Eastfield, Victoria Dock, Estcourt Academy, Francis Askew and Priory Primary schools all played some exciting matches throughout the day. Ings, Bellfield and Woodland Primary schools all competed in the second qualifying event held at Malet Lambert School. Please see below for the teams finishing in the top two places in each event and invited to attend the Hull final at Nuffield Health Centre next week.

Mini-Red (Year 3/4):

Bellfeld A, Ings A, Victoria Dock and Estcort Academy A

Mini-Orange (Year 5/6):

Eastfield A, Victoria Dock, Bellfield A and Ings A

Thank you to Malet Lambert Schools PE Department for hosting one event and a huge thank you to Pete Bridgewater for his delivery of both events.
