Primary Year 5/6 Rounders Championships
Hull Active Schools host two separate primary school rounders championships for year five and six students. Schools are invited to attend either the East Hull or West Hull Championships depending on their location and the competition is mixed, with a maximum of 4 boys allowed per team.
West Hull Championships
Sirius Academy West hosted the first Championships for West Hull schools with Christopher Pickering, Estcourt Academy, Chiltern Primary and Adelaide Primary Schools attending. A four team round robin league ensued with every school winning at least one match, a testament to the standard of rounders played. Christopher Pickering remained unbeaten to be crowned West Hull Rounders Championships, followed by Estcourt Academy in 2nd place due to scoring more rounders than 3rd placed Chiltern.
East Hull Championships
St Mary’s College hosted the second Championships which involved nine primary schools from East Hull. Split into three groups of three teams, each school played two fixtures to determine their initial group phase positions. St Richards, Neasden and Victoria Dock primary school won their respected groups to progress to the finals. Neasden dominated again, remaining unbeaten to take the Gold medals. St Richards narrowly beat 3rd placed Victoria Dock by half a rounder to claim 2nd place.
