Kingswood Parks at home in the Pool!

Hull Active Schools delivered two Swimming Festivals at Albert Avenue Pools and the brand new Woodford Leisure Centre Pool during the Spring term. These festivals are for non-club swimmers and provide many young people with their first experience in a competitive swimming environment.

The festivals are in a team format and schools are invited to attend with between 4-6 boys and 4-6 girls to compete in the following race events; 25m Backstroke, 25m Breaststroke, 25m Front Crawl, 50m Freestyle, Mixed Medlay Relay and 4x25m Freestyle Relays.

Albert Avenue Pools

Craven Primary Academy and Pearson Primary School went head to head in the festival held at Albert Avenue Pools. Both schools swam extremely well and each team registered plenty of 1st place finishes. The festivals are in a team format. This means each race a swimmer competes in, they are accumulating scores for their overall school team. Craven Primary School just edged it and took home the gold medals. Well done to Pearson Primary who finished with Silver

Woodford Leisure Centre

Kingswood Parks, Wansbeck and Chiltern Primary schools visited the new pool at Woodford Leisure for our second Swimming Festival. At this event we had the extra provision of a swim teacher for the young people to learn technique between races. Some fantastic races took place and some real determination on show from all the swimmers. Congratulations to Kingswood Parks who finished in 1st place, Wansbeck in 2nd and Chiltern in 3rd.
