The Hull Active Schools New Age Kurling Championships were held at St Mary’s College involving 14 teams and 60 students. This highlighted the fact that inclusive sports in the city of Hull are starting to grow rapidly.
Archbishop Sentamu Academy in their first inclusive sport event were the clear winners only losing one of their matches in the Key Stage 3 Plus 1 competition. St Mary’s College B were second and Sirius Academy North B were third in a topsy turvy competition where teams were taking match points from each other. St Mary’s College A were fourth, St Mary’s College C were fifth and Sirius Academy West B were sixth.
Sirius Academy West A won the Key Stage 4 Plus 1 event winning the deciding game against St Mary’s College to take the title. Sirius Academy West B were third. Ganton A pipped Ganton B to take the Key Stage 4 Plus 2 event.
The tournament was officiated by the St Mary’s College Inclusion Sports Leadership Academy.
